How to Save Pinterest Videos on PC, iPhone and Android

A recipe, craft demonstration or workout is easier to revisit when you know where it is saved. On Pinterest, however, saving a Pin to a board does not create a video file on your phone or computer.

For a public Video Pin you own or have permission to download, copy its individual link, analyze it with AirMore, and choose an available direct video file. On iPhone, check Files before looking in Photos; on Android and desktop, start with your browser’s downloads. A stream-only result needs different handling.

Start with the right kind of save

• Save to a board: bookmark the Pin inside Pinterest. It is not an offline video copy.
• Download a direct file: keep a local media file, if the source provides one.
• Open a stream: play a playlist through a compatible player; the playlist itself is not a complete MP4.

1. Use AirMore to analyze the Video Pin

This browser tool accepts individual public Pinterest Video Pin links and pin.it short links. It shows the file or stream made available by the source; it does not turn every Pin into MP4 or increase the original resolution. Private, login-required, paid and DRM-protected content is outside its supported scope.

1. Open the individual video, not a board, profile or search-results page. Use its share menu to copy the link, or copy the Pin URL from your browser.
2. Open the AirMore tool below and paste the URL into the Pinterest video URL field. Select Analyze video.
3. Read the result type before selecting it. Choose a direct video-file option such as MP4 when available. If only a stream or playlist is returned, do not rename it to .mp4.

In our desktop-browser check, one public Video Pin returned an MP4 link, and the media URL responded successfully as video/mp4. This confirms that sample result, not support for every Pin or a native iPhone/Android app test.

2. Save a Pinterest video on a computer

1. Open the public Pin in your desktop browser and copy its individual URL. Paste it into AirMore and select Analyze video.
2. If a direct file is offered, select the download option. If the browser opens a video player instead, use its download control or Save video as when available. Saving the webpage is not the same as saving the video.
3. Open the browser’s Downloads list and use Show in folder, or check your configured download location. On Windows and Mac this is often the Downloads folder. Play the saved file to confirm it is the intended clip.

Keep the original Pin link with your notes so you can find the creator again. If a temporary result expires, analyze the Pin again rather than repeatedly opening the old media link.

3. Save a Pinterest video on iPhone

1. In Pinterest, open the Video Pin and copy its share link. Switch to Safari and open AirMore; using the external browser makes downloaded files easier to find than staying inside an in-app viewer.
2. Paste the link, analyze it and select a direct video file if one is available. Confirm the browser’s download prompt.
3. Open Files → Browse → Downloads. Depending on your Safari settings, the folder may be under iCloud Drive or On My iPhone. Safari’s download button can also show recent downloads.
4. To add a compatible local video to Photos, open it in Files and check Share for Save Video. If that action is absent, keep the file in Files and check the format; not every returned media type can be imported into Photos.

Downloading through Safari does not always place the clip directly in Photos. First confirm that the local file exists and plays. A stream playlist is not a Photos-ready video.

4. Save a Pinterest video on Android

1. Copy the individual Pin’s share link and open the AirMore tool in Chrome. Paste the URL and analyze it.
2. Select an available direct-file download. If a player opens, look for its download option; do not assume the thumbnail itself is the video.
3. Open Chrome → menu → Downloads, or your device’s Files app → Downloads. Menu names vary by manufacturer.
4. Play the file from Downloads. If it is missing from Gallery or Google Photos, check the file manager first; a downloaded file need not appear immediately in every media app.

Check free storage and the browser’s download status before trying again. Do not install an APK merely to open a normal downloaded MP4.

When Pinterest offers its own download option

Pinterest lets creators control downloads of full-screen 9:16 Video Pins; enabled downloads include the creator’s username watermark. If your app shows a Download option for that Pin, you can use it. Its absence does not mean the red Save button will download a file.

Why a Pinterest video will not save

Only an image is returned

Confirm that the Pin actually contains video. An animated-looking preview or an image Pin is not a video source.

The link is rejected

Copy the individual Pin link again. If a pin.it link fails, open it and use the expanded Pin URL. Avoid board and search links.

Only M3U8 or a stream appears

This is a playlist, not a finished MP4. Look for a direct-file option or request the original from the creator. Renaming the extension does not convert it.

The download has expired

Return to the original public Pin and analyze it again. Temporary media links can stop working.

No result, or the Pin is unavailable

Check the original Pin. Removed, private or login-restricted media may not be supported; repeated retries will not change its access settings.

Frequently asked questions

Can I download every Pinterest video?

No. Availability depends on the Pin, its access restrictions and the media returned by the source. Use a creator-provided file when a compatible download is unavailable.

Is AirMore free to try?

The Pinterest page is presented as a free online tool, and the sample analysis did not require signing in. Do not assume that means unlimited requests or guaranteed results for all videos.

Can I save a Pinterest board as one video?

A board is a collection of Pins. Open the individual Video Pin you need; this workflow is not a board or bulk downloader.

Will the video be HD and have sound?

Quality and audio depend on the source. Check the available option and play the file; a downloader cannot recover detail or audio that the source does not provide.

Can I repost the downloaded video?

Being able to download does not grant reuse permission. Save content you own or are allowed to keep, and obtain permission for reposting or commercial use.

For the simplest route, use the Pin’s own download option when it is available, or analyze a permitted public Video Pin with AirMore. Check the result type and the actual destination folder before troubleshooting. On iPhone, the extra Files-to-Photos step is often the missing link.
