How to Save Facebook Videos on PC, iPhone and Android

A Facebook video can be saved in two very different places: inside your Facebook account or as a file on your device. If you need a clip for offline viewing, adding it to Saved is not enough.

For a public video you own or have permission to download, start with AirMore: copy the individual video or Reel link, analyze it, then select an available MP4. Use Safari on iPhone and Chrome on Android so you can find the downloaded file. For your own account archive or an ended Live broadcast, Facebook’s export and download controls offer another route.

1. Start with AirMore for an accessible public video

AirMore runs in your browser, so you do not need a separate downloader app for this workflow. Its Facebook page accepts public video, Watch and Reel links that can be opened without signing in. Paste the link to the actual clip rather than a Page, profile, group or feed.

The tool displays the MP4 renditions it can access. An SD or HD choice appears only when the source supplies it; neither a public link nor an HD original guarantees a particular result. Friends-only posts, private groups, login-only videos and paid or DRM-protected content are excluded.

1. Open the video itself in Facebook. Use Share → Copy link where shown; on desktop, open the individual post or video and copy its address.
2. Open AirMore using the link below and paste the URL into Facebook video URL. Select Analyze video.
3. Choose one of the available video-file options. If several qualities appear, pick the one that suits your screen and storage space.
4. Check that the file finishes downloading and plays with the expected sound. Keep the original post link if you need to credit or contact the creator.

The page offers free use with a daily limit. If the limit message appears, follow the page guidance and try later; it does not mean that the video URL is wrong. This URL-based workflow does not require your Facebook password or session cookies. Available files and quality depend on the source.

2. Download to a Windows PC or Mac

1. Open the AirMore page in your desktop browser and analyze the video’s individual URL.
2. Select the available MP4 download. If the link opens a video player, use its download control or the browser’s Save video as option when offered. Do not choose Save page as and expect a playable video.
3. Open the browser’s Downloads list. Use Show in folder or the equivalent command to locate the file; the default is often Downloads on Windows and Mac.
4. Open the saved file and check its duration and audio before moving or renaming it.

If the result link later stops working, return to the original video and analyze it again. Temporary media URLs are not permanent backups.

3. Save to iPhone: Files first, then Photos

1. In the Facebook app, open the video or Reel and copy its share link.
2. Open Safari directly, go to AirMore, paste the link and analyze it. This keeps the download outside Facebook’s in-app viewer.
3. Choose the available MP4 and confirm any download prompt. Open Safari’s download list or Files → Browse → Downloads. Your Safari settings determine whether this is in iCloud Drive or On My iPhone.
4. To put a compatible local video in Photos, open it in Files, tap Share and look for Save Video. If that action is absent, first confirm that the file is a playable video rather than a webpage or playlist.

A successful Safari download can remain in Files without appearing in Photos. Check Files before downloading the same clip again; available share actions depend on the file and iOS version.

4. Save to Android and find the file

1. Copy the individual video’s share link in Facebook, then open AirMore in Chrome.
2. Paste the link, analyze it and choose an available MP4. If a player opens instead of a download prompt, look for the player’s download menu.
3. In Chrome, open the menu → Downloads. You can also use the phone’s file manager and open Downloads; manufacturer labels may differ.
4. Play the file from that folder. If Gallery or Google Photos does not show it immediately, the file manager is the better place to check whether it exists.

An unfinished download, low storage or a file that is not actually a video can all explain a missing Gallery entry. A normal MP4 does not require installing a new APK.

5. Save your own videos with Facebook’s tools

For a video or Reel you posted, inspect its own options menu for an available download command. Do not assume the same command exists on someone else’s video. To retrieve several items from your own account, use Accounts Center’s information-download/export controls and select the relevant Facebook profile and media categories. The archive must be prepared before it is ready to download.

For an ended Live broadcast you own, Meta documents opening the video from your profile or Page in full-screen view, then choosing the three-dot menu → Download video. The activity log also offers access to your available Live videos.

Meta’s Live storage policy introduced in February 2025 gives new Live broadcasts a 30-day availability period before automatic removal. Back up an important broadcast while it is still available; a downloader cannot restore a deleted source.

Why the download fails—or looks wrong

The video plays for me, but AirMore cannot access it

Being logged into Facebook may give you access that a public-link tool does not have. Check the video’s audience and whether it opens while signed out. Do not make a private video public just to download it; use your own original or Facebook’s export route.

The copied link is a feed, Page or group

Open the specific video and copy its link again. If a shortened share URL fails, open it in your browser and copy the resulting individual video address.

There is no HD option

Use the quality actually listed. Facebook may expose only a lower-resolution rendition to the tool. Changing the filename or stretching the video does not add detail.

The download has no sound

First compare playback with the source. Then check another available file option or a compatible player. A video-only rendition or unavailable audio track cannot be fixed by merely renaming the file.

I saved a webpage or tiny playlist

That is not a finished video file. Return to the result and select a direct MP4 if one is offered; changing .html or .m3u8 to .mp4 does not convert it.

The file is incomplete or the link expired

Check free storage and the browser’s download status. Retry the analysis from the original accessible video, rather than repeatedly using an old temporary media URL.

Does Save video in Facebook work offline?

It is a bookmark in your account, not a local MP4. Use Facebook’s Saved area to find it again; access still depends on the post remaining available.

Why do older instructions say Watch while my app says Reels?

Meta announced a transition in June 2025 toward sharing videos as Reels and renaming the Video tab. Use the individual video link rather than relying on an old tab name.

Can this download private-group or friends-only videos?

No. AirMore’s public-link workflow excludes content that needs account access. For your own media, use the original file or the official export controls.

Will I get the original quality?

Not necessarily. You receive an accessible rendition offered by the source, not a promise of the creator’s original upload. Check the result before saving.

Can I download an entire Facebook profile?

Can I repost a downloaded clip?

Downloading does not transfer copyright or reuse permission. Obtain permission for reposting, editing or commercial use when needed.
