The March Pixel Drop just landed with 8 big upgrades for your Android device - what's new

Google has officially released the March Pixel Feature Drop, bringing a suite of new capabilities to its lineup of smartphones and wearable devices. This update primarily focuses on enhancing user convenience through advanced search functions, improved social media integration, and more granular control over screen sharing, ensuring that older Pixel models receive the latest software innovations previously reserved for the flagship Pixel 8 series.

One of the standout additions is "Circle to Search," which is now expanding to the Pixel 7 and Pixel 7 Pro. This AI-powered tool allows users to search for any item on their screen simply by circling or highlighting it without switching apps. Additionally, Pixel phones from the 7 series onwards can now upload 10-bit HDR videos directly to Instagram Reels and share Ultra HDR photos to Instagram feeds, significantly boosting visual quality for social media creators.

The update also introduces "app-specific screen sharing," permitting users to share a single application rather than their entire screen during video calls, which enhances privacy and reduces distractions. Connectivity is further streamlined with an improved Fast Pair process for Bluetooth accessories and a more interactive Call Screen feature that helps users filter spam calls more effectively. For the Pixel Watch, new features like Pace Training and Heart Zone Training have been added to help athletes optimize their workouts.
